The design of this Castle Creek Valley residence
reflects a contemporary alpine architecture
with a Japanese influence. The building's exterior
features old-growth timbers used to construct
and reconstruct Japanese temples. The structure
is composed of three terraced split-levels,
built into a hillside. Private landscaped gardens
are created around the home's perimeter by the
use of terraced masonry site walls that extend
into and through the house. Living and entertaining
spaces have large windows and outdoor patios
to maximize views of a private fish-stocked
pond and the forested Castle Creek beyond.
“When viewing the house from Castle Creek
Road, a colleague commented that the fine custom
exterior woodwork made it look like a “jewelry
box”.
“The Owner can view Hayden's Peak between his
toes while lying in bed.”
