Poss Community Involvement

From mentoring young people to volunteering at a free farm-to-table community dinner, the principals and staff of Poss Architecture + Planning and Interior Design are dedicated to giving back to their community.

Many of the initiatives they’ve chosen focus on youth, education, and art. Poss contributed design and permitting assistance for the new offices of The Extreme Sports Camp, a local non-profit that provides recreational opportunities for individuals across the autism spectrum in the Roaring Fork Valley. The company again stepped up for the Sopris Sun, Carbondale’s weekly free newspaper. Poss not only donated space planning and design assistance, but also helped the tenant finish construction and move in.

“Supporting Roaring Fork youth as they navigate life’s challenges and successes by providing temporary housing and support services,” is the mission of Stepping Stones House. Poss provided heavily discounted design services for land-use approvals and permitting of a remodel of the non-profit’s residential youth drop-in facility in Carbondale. Work included finishing an unfinished basement for use as an additional activity room, with new accessible restroom, and site accessibility upgrades. The project was completed in late summer 2016.

Poss professionals also support the work of The Art Base, Aspen Community Foundation, Aspen Board of Realtors Heldman/King Scholarship Fund, Basalt Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Shining Stars Foundation, Aspen Junior Hockey, The Buddy Program, Aspen Leafs U14AA, Idaho Cheer, BMX Crown Mountain, Aspen Community Theatre, and Audi FIS World Cup Finals 2017.
